First Visit Experience
If you're new to psychiatric care, you'll find your first visit similar to other medical appointments. Confidentiality is paramount, except in cases where there's a risk of harm. The initial visit is a consultation to understand your reasons for seeking help and your health history. This includes discussing mental health, general health, and family history.
Medical Causes of Symptoms
In treating psychiatric or mental health issues, it's important to rule out medical causes. Symptoms like depression, anxiety, and concentration difficulties can stem from various medical conditions, which need to be identified for effective treatment planning.
Developing a Treatment Plan
Treatment plans are personalized, taking into account your history of treatments. This includes past successes and failures, as well as untried options.
Balancing Psychotherapy and Medication
While medications for depression may take time to become effective, other treatment options like psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and behavioral activation can offer immediate benefits. These treatments can bridge the gap until medications fully take effect.
Our team of healthcare providers consists of board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners and healthcare support staff who are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. We ensure that our providers stay up-to-date with the latest medical advancements and techniques.
